Neutralizing antibody assays

The most significant impact of anti-drug antibodies is their ability to neutralize large molecule’s binding to targets, or inhibit their enzymatic activity and thereby neutralizing the pharmacological activity of the drug. We determine the presence of neutralizing antibodies using in vitro binding assays (surrogate neutralization assays), enzyme activity assays or functional cell culture assays.
